Machame Western Breach with Crater Camp

The Machame or “Whiskey” route is a popular option on Mount Kilimanjaro. It offers the good scenic variety of five vegetation zones, and the Shira Plateau. In this hybrid version, you ascend via the Western Breach (more often accessed via Lemosho route) - challenging, steep terrain with rock scrambling, and you get away from the Machame route crowds for a few nights. Unlike the usual Machame route, this hybrid version has a short daytime summit ascent (rather than the traditional midnight summit start).
